A Space to Entertain and Elevate

Following a previous renovation, S & B reached out to us with a vision for their next transformation: a refined kitchen-living space that felt elegant, open, and truly representative of their lifestyle. With a generous 56 m² footprint and soaring 3.3-meter ceilings, the area had immense potential but lacked cohesion and design impact. As frequent hosts with a deep appreciation for material quality, they wanted a space that was both family-friendly and a showcase for entertaining. Their priorities were clear: timeless design, smart storage solutions, and a centerpiece kitchen that made a statement without shouting.

Designing for Height, Light, and Function

The design journey began by introducing white-washed, wide-plank flooring, which brightened the entire area and gave it a contemporary, airy elegance. To fully capitalize on the ceiling height, we designed double-stacked wall cabinets. The upper tier offers discreet storage for china, glassware, and special-occasion pieces, while the lower tier remains easily accessible for daily family use. A built-in SodaStream system was seamlessly integrated inside the cabinetry, keeping the countertops sleek and clutter-free.
The material palette embraced soft neutrals to maintain a timeless yet modern atmosphere. Combined with clean lines and thoughtful spatial planning, the result is an expansive, inviting room with effortless sophistication.

Everyday Living, Centered Around Family

More than just a visual upgrade, the space was carefully planned around how the family lives, gathers, and grows. With three young children, it was important to create a layout that allowed for connection without congestion. The open kitchen-living area now allows the kids to play freely in the living room while meals are being prepared. S & B can cook comfortably, keep an eye on the children, and still stay fully engaged.

The dining area, positioned between the kitchen and living zones, naturally becomes the family’s meeting point. It is a place to reconnect, share meals, and enjoy each other’s company. By merging these once-separated spaces, we created a layout that brings the whole family together and allows everyday routines to feel more fluid, more interactive, and more joyful.

Stone That Steals the Show

One of the most defining features of this project was the countertop selection. This decision took over two months of careful research and sampling. S & B ultimately chose Taj Mahal Quartzite, a natural stone with an extraordinary matte finish and a rich, flake-like optical depth that gives the surface a unique, almost glowing appearance.

Every detail was considered. The veining of the stone transitions seamlessly across horizontal and vertical planes. The backsplash is a showpiece in itself, with a bookmatched pattern that mirrors left to right, forming a symmetrical natural artwork that anchors the kitchen design.

The finished space is a perfect blend of form and function, grounded in natural materials and a thoughtful, neutral color palette. It is elegant without excess, modern without trendiness, and practical without compromise. S & B now enjoy a home centerpiece that reflects their values: refined, timeless, and ready for a lifetime of shared meals and memories.
