Prenzlauer Berg complete apartment transformation

When this apartment was purchased, the rear of the apartment had a very poor layout and no sense of purpose. After reviewing multiple design options with the client, we opted for a master bedroom suite with a large bedroom, a walk-in closet combined with a laundry room, and a large shower area with a separate tub and shower area.

The color palette chosen for this project was of particular importance in a bathroom renovation can have several benefits, including:

Calming effect: Blue is a calming color that can help create a relaxing and soothing atmosphere in the bathroom. This can be especially helpful in a space that is meant to be used for relaxation, such as a spa-like bathroom.

Aesthetic appeal: Blue Mediterranean colors are associated with the sea and the sky, which can add a natural and tranquil feel to the bathroom. This can be especially beneficial if you want to create a coastal or beachy theme.

Timeless design: Blue Mediterranean colors have been used in interior design for centuries and are a timeless choice for a bathroom renovation. This means that your bathroom will remain stylish and relevant for years to come.

Versatility: Blue Mediterranean colors can be paired with a variety of different design elements, including white, beige, and natural materials such as wood and stone. This versatility makes it easy to create a customized look that reflects your personal style.

Health benefits: Some studies have shown that blue can have health benefits, including reducing stress and promoting relaxation. This can make your bathroom a more pleasant and healthy space to be in.

By combining the varied blue tile pattern with a white Carrara mosaic floor tile, we emphasized the color palette on the walls, while adding texture and depth by using the hexagonal mosaic pattern in the floor tiles. The black mosaic frame was made by combining tiles of a similar size and shape from another source and matching them to create a beautiful border effect. The final bathroom design was a combination of Corsican-inspired architecture and traditional Greek design combined with high-end fixtures and furniture from Axor, the exclusive brand from Hans Grohe.

Little details that made this particular project special were the recessed shelving in the shower area matched to the tile size, and the wall floor drain which allowed to keep the floor intact in one piece while giving the shower a large, open-concept feeling.
